1-on-1 Chrome extension development course

Hi there! I'm Jon, and I've been developing Chrome extensions for a decade, while working at companies like Google and Optimizely. I've worked on many private extensions as well as publicly available extensions with thousands of users like Optimizely Assistant and Trotto.

If you have a specific extension you'd like to build, I'll even help you think through how to architect it and customize the course to focus on the skills most relevant to the extension you want to build.

Prerequisite: Intermediate experience with JavaScript.

The format of the course is:

• Overview (1 hour). Concepts covered include the manifest file, background scripts, content scripts, extension UI (popup, options page, freeform pages), event handlers, data persistence, and backend requests.
• Hands-on study of 2 extensions (1 hour). We'll examine how the extensions work, modify their behavior, and fix bugs.
